December 8, 2019 •Well done Roger for more invaluable Newcastle music history ....
..This is very important I would like to reach out to those Club Ago Ago members of the 1960's
When ever there was a major gig at the City Hall particularly on a Saturday night the Artists who'd finished their gig At The Hall would sometimes head straight for the Club Ago Ago .......There is many many instances of a major band playing the Club Ago go and a major band playing The City Hall on the same night .......This is interesting because it meant these artists would Jam and play as a surprise unannounced guest at the Go Go later in The Jazz loung after midnight .......One particular example I witnessed was one the last gigs before the Go Go closed 1968 .....It was Jimmy Cliffs booked at Go Go on a Saturday night ...And after midnight in the Jazz lounge on came this guy who'd just finished his gig at the City Hall ....To this day I can't remember his name ...Anyone out there who recalls these super Jamming Sessions at the Club Ago Ago...? .......If Roger is reading this could you also list this article on the Club Ago Ago comments page too and we might get a response ......Thanks Roger. ....keep up the good work and that Club Ago Ago book may be written sometime and deservedly published. Alan Brack ......email add ........ atemp49@aol.com

December 13, 2020 •The first concert I attended was at the City Hall, featuring The Gun, Family and the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, some time in the late 60’s. Anyone have the actual date?
Having seen the Incredible String Band several times, and many other “name bands”, I discovered that some time in the 1940s, as a schoolgirl my mum had performed on the same stage, singing solo “how beautiful are the feet” from Handel’s Messiah.
Brilliant site, keep it up

March 12, 2021 •Hi, I was looking for Earth Wind and Fire, I have a vague recollection of them standing in for a band on a package tour that included Gentle Giant among others, noone had heard of them at the time but they took the lid of the place! Anyone else remember this?
